Not Waiting for Spring – Winter Family Photos

Peter and Cait are a “together but apart” / sort of blended family situation (specifics aren’t important). He’s got two kids from a previous relationship, and so does she. On a sunny afternoon in December, we all came together down by the Oakville lakefront to make some photos that celebrated the whole wonderful group. Peter and Cait had decided there was no need to wait for warmer weather, let’s embrace the tuques and pompom hats and cozy coats and have some fun. And that’s exactly what we did. The two younger girls have the most wonderful magic between them. You’d never know they haven’t known each other forever.

We made the most of the beautiful area beside the creek in downtown Oakville – park space with trees for climbing, pebble beach with rocks for skipping, and boulders for sitting. I love shooting by the water, and the bonus of doing it in winter is that there aren’t many other people down there!

Cait and Peter have chosen a collection of prints to add to their existing family gallery walls, as well as a coffee table book with all of their favourite photos.
