When Isabel called me to talk about booking their family photo session, she told me that she and Pino have family all over the world, and their favourite way to keep everyone up to date on their kids is through a holiday card with some great photos. Isabel was also in the process of redecorating their family room and looking to create a gallery wall with three fantastic canvases of the kids. “OK,” I said, “I can help with both of these things.” Then Isabel followed with “I should warn you…” (uh oh) “my kids don’t sit still for very long!” Ha! I’ve heard that one before, no problem. The best answer – don’t ask them to sit still for long!
We booked our session for a local park which would give them plenty of chance to run around and for me to catch some great “playtime” photos of all of the family. We got a few “organized” family portraits first in some different combinations, but then let the kids go while I worked on some candid images.
When we were all done, the kids all agreed that they’d had more fun than they expected, and Isabel’s comment was that the whole experience had been way easier than she expected. AND, once she saw the photos, she was thrilled with the results.
