A wedding is such a magical event. I wish I was able to photograph more of them, but the all-day nature of most medium to larger weddings simply doesn’t fit with careful balancing act around my family’s needs. That’s why, when I have the opportunity to work with a bride and groom on a smaller celebration, I’ll jump at the chance. Jess and Andrew’s celebration, held at La Maquette Restaurant, in Toronto truly was picture perfect. We enjoyed the first, warm(ish) sunny Saturday afternoon in April, after a long, cold spring; allowing us to shoot the portrait work outside in the beautiful Toronto Sculpture Garden, in the shadow of St. James Cathedral. After a simple ceremony on the patio, it was onto a laugh filled cocktail reception and dinner in the beautiful upstairs restaurant space.
