I have to admit that when I launched Sarah Sims Photography WAY back in 2011, I’m not sure I thought i would still be doing this fifteen years later. This was for a variety of reasons. I’ve never been a long term planner. My approach is a little more, “lets see how this goes because you never know what might be around the next corner” Also, at that point in my life, I’d never done ANYTHING for fifteen years! Nevertheless, here we are today. In that time I’ve served hundreds of clients, helping them celebrate the story of their family, or put their best face forward with a fantastic headshot photo. I have been privileged to have dozens of my clients come back time and again, mapping their families over many years. I’ve assembled a gallery of some “then and now” here.
While I doubt there will be another fifteen years ahead, there are still a few more good years! I hope you’ll join me again along the way.
(For a fun comparison, check out the post I made for my ten year anniversary in the early post(ish)-covid days.)
Since working as a volunteer photographer for the Oakville Red Cross at my dad’s request was part of the story of how I decided to pursue photography as a career, I have given my services to a number of charities over the years. Two of the most enduring and rewarding have been my work with Lighthouse for Grieving Children (especially the annual Run for Lighthouse events) and Shifra Homes who provide a home and support services for unhoused young pregnant women.
